Overview

Forbidden Dragons is a classic Colossal Reels slot machine from WMS and it has Huge Win potential because of the bonus, where any Colossal Reel wins are multiplied by 5! Like many slots, Forbidden Dragons is a lines-based game where you win by landing winning combinations on paylines, from left to right. What's interesting about these type of games is that you have two sets of reels: the "Main" reel and the "Colossal" reel and you can win on each!

Standard Play

Colossal Reels slots have two reels: the Main Reel Set and the Colossal Reel Set with different games generally differentiating themselves during the bonus although two standard features seem to be the following:

  1. If you fully land a wild reel in the Main reel set, it will transfer to the Colossal reel set.

  2. Bonus symbols only appear on odd-numbered reels, and you need to land them on at least 3 reels to trigger the bonus.

As mentioned above, Forbidden Dragons is a lines-based game so it's all about landing wild-stacks in the Main reel set that then transfer to the Colossal reel set. All other symbols are stacked, besides the bonus symbols, and the game is fairly basic until you trigger the bonus!

Balance & Volatility

Like many Colossal Reels slots, Forbidden Dragons is in some ways hard to pin down: on the one hand, you're essentially playing two games at once and your bet is spread across those two games, so it's not uncommon to win something on a spin, but not a great amount. To win big, it's all about 5-reel hits with this one as payouts for 5-reel wins are generally 10x or more than those of 3-reel hits! Consequently there's this push and pull of the game for having certain features that are characteristic of a lower-volatility games and also other features that are characteristic of a higher-volatility games!

Bonus Features

The bonus is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 or 6 bonus symbols for 8, 12, or 20 free games respectively. Scatter awards are also paid out up to 20x your bet if you land 5 or 6 bonus symbols. During the bonus, all Colossal Reel wins are multiplied by 5, giving you a shot at that Big Win or Jackpot. Retriggers are possible if you are lucky!

How You Can Win Big! And by "BIG" I Mean 100x

It's all about the bonus in this one:

  1. During the bonus, land a good set of 4-reel hits with a premium symbol.

  2. During the bonus, land a good set of 5-reel hits with pretty much any symbol.
