Ask Zeus: Volume 5
"Are there any strategies that you use to maximize payback or is it just about luck?"
I absolutely have a number of strategies and am considering writing a book on the subject although there's certainly no secret way to always beat the machines. A quick piece of advice I'll give is that if you play and want to minimize the impact, you need to take advantage of the offers the casinos give. So that means making the effort to attend promotions and eating casino food for example: it all adds up!
"What happens when you're at the casino and half the slots go black screen?"
Good question! There can be a few reasons for this to occur, such as a casino's power system not being robust enough to handle a bad storm(which I've experienced) or even just testing the backup systems(which I've also experienced). What I can tell you is that slot machines are designed to recover from power outages, and every time I've experienced such an issue, the machine eventually recovered to the proper point, even in a bonus, so there were zero issues. In more extreme cases, a technician had to manually get the machine back online, but once it was, all of my money was still there. I've never experienced a "catastrophic" outage of a machine where it had an issue that it did not eventually recover from.
"Why not tell us where you play?"
There are a number of reasons for this! Currently most casinos maintain a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy with regard to the taking of slot videos and I have few problems as long as I'm not obnoxious about it. While it would be great to have everything out in the open, the truth is that in this moment in time, it's less of a hassle for everyone to fly under the radar. Secondly, I value my privacy, and truth be told there are a lot of wackos out there, and it's just safer to remain anonymous.
All of that said, if you are a casino marketing manager and would like me to promote where my videos are being taken at your establishment, please contact me and I will happily do so!
