Buffalo is a top brand so I assume Bally wanted to get in on that action and the result was Mustang! Did they succeed? I think it was a reasonable effort and I actually like Mustang, although the market still seems to prefer Buffalo. Mustang is played with what Bally calls "1024 Ways" which means you just need to match symbols in any position in reels left to right although unlike Buffalo, the top 5 symbols only require matches in reels 1 and 2 to win, so you have more frequent smaller hits.

The key to a Big Win or Jackpot is usually to get the bonus, as wilds in reels 2, 3, and 4 become either 2x or 3x multipliers. To trigger the bonus, you need 3 bonus symbols to award 8 free games. During the bonus, only 2 additional bonus symbols are required to retrigger 5 additional spins.
