Max Action would never be made today and while you may shake your head at it, I'm still glad that it was. You win in the base game by landing winning paylines or by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols. The real fun is with one of the special features of the game though:

The "Max Action Wild Feature" is triggered any time "The Dude" partially lands on reel 1, which is the only reel he can land. If he does, reel 1 will transform fully wild and any "Chick" that lands will increase your multiplier by the number that land for any winning combinations.

The "Dance Groove Bonus" is triggered by landing 3 bonus symbols on a payline on reels 1, 2 and 3 after which you pick 3 Chicks where each can pay from 20 to 200 credits times your line bet times the number of initiating lines. You then pick one final Chick for more credits or a multiplier of 2, 3 or 5!

My favorite game. I was able to get five record players at 4 dollars and won 400 for the scatter. Great game but need time and patients . Glad you gave it a try.

Amazing find this machine was a favorite of a compulsive gambler who lost all of his money , house and goods solely on this machine . I'm sure that'll never be the case with you

Max Action is right up there with Risque Business, where I actually scored a great win on, which is one you need to see to believe: IGT classics are the best and if you love IGT, check out my recent Best of Jackpot episode focusing only on IGT Jackpots: Thanks for watching and if you're new, Subscribe! β†’

My guess is 2000-2002 when the graphics were mostly very primitive still. But even a few years before the earliest video slots I remember IGT had regular 3 reel slots with video screens above them in the earliest versions of advantage play with fixed bonuses that had to be earned. The one that comes to mind had a conveyor belt with prize packages on it that moved 1 space randomly but the packages had a final destination so you knew when you were just 1 movement away.. The guestimation was $5 or less in single quarter bets to get a movement. If the prize was large, hustlers would stalk players hoping they would leave before getting it. Probably 1996 when I pretty much lived at Foxwoods, lol

My husband and I both like this game. I've only seen one Max Action machine at my local (Pala), I don't know why the casinos didn't have more. There were a lot of fun games from this era -- Risky Business was another good one. You are probably right that they'd never make this game today -- though there are lots of salacious and sexy scantily clad ladies in today's slots that are much more suggestive. I didn't think you were ever going to get the bonus! Guess I have to confess that I played Leisure Suit Larry on the kid's home computer a few time too. Thanks for the memories.

Nicely done! I remember that this game was one of the IGT games available in Caribe Hilton Mayaguez when I started playing. It was frustrating, but fun! Thanks for bringing back a cool memory and for sharing!πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž
