Cats is in many ways a very basic video slot which incorporates the concept of "Split Symbols" for premium symbols only. Split symbols count for two of the same symbol type so if you land a Wild symbol and a standard premium symbol on a line, that's all you need to win! Consequently, the pay table for premium symbols allows for wins between 3 and all the way up to 10, if you land all Split Symbols and/or wild symbols on a payline.
The bonus is triggered by landing 5 or 6 paw bonus symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4 for 5 or 10 free games respectively. If you only land 4 total symbols, regardless if they span the three reels, you will just receive a credit award. Free games in Cats are played on an alternate set of reels, although there doesn't appear to be a huge advantage of playing a free game versus a standard game, as you will see. Consequently, unlike many other video slots, it's NOT necessarily all about landing the Bonus in this one, as a great line hit can happen at any time! Love playing Cats and am grateful it is still around here in the northwest. There is one very irritating non-pay-out in it. If you get 4 of the cat paws it pays you double your bet(as a scatter). However, if you get 5 or 6 paws you get the free games, but nothing for the scatter! And as anyone how plays this game know...sometimes the bonus spins pay less or nothing at all. Losing money on a bonus can make people crazy!
